Wanderbread - A Guide to Gourmet Hiking in San Francisco

$34.00
sold out

I am sorry to disappoint you, but proud to announce I sold out of my first print. I anticipate having a second print available around mid-September.

This is my love letter to San Francisco. It was inspired by a trip to Europe, where I had the most marvelous time hiking from village to village, from refugio to refugio, eating and drinking both merrily and memorably along the way.

When I returned to San Francisco, I wanted to walk it all. To trace its coastline, climb every hill, every enchanted stairway, and detour onto every dirt path I could.

I didn’t pack a lunch. Instead, I trusted I’d come across something decent along the way.

No matter how deep I ventured into its edges and its corners, a favorite restaurant, cafe, or bakery of mine was nearby. Often right along the path. Often even more delicious than I remembered it to be.

After years of exploring, defining, and refining my routes, after years of visiting and revisiting my favorite places to eat, drink, and browse - I felt like I had something unique to offer.

From its inception, I imagined the book to be a collection of maps. I’ve always had a thing for maps.  The accompanying text and tables serve to help you grasp the flavor of each excursion and the effort and time it entails.

A real labor of love, this unorthodox, spiral-bound compendium of old-fashioned treasure hunts is intended to lure you out of the digital maze of “best of” and “must try” lists and unburden your mind of the tasks of navigating, choosing, and optimizing. I have done all the work, all of the tedious food research. The walks are magical, trust me!

You need only arrive with an appetite, comfy shoes, curiosity, and a smidge of physical determination.
